HNT: Friendly fire
Jim Jefferies today insisted he will remain the best of friends with his Hibs counterpart John Hughes regardless of the outcome of Saturday's derby clash.
The pair's relationship was forged in Berwick in the late 1980s when JJ was boss of a young Yogi and with the pair going to head to head in the Edinburgh showdown for the first time as managers this weekend, it's a match eagerly awaited by both.
Although the duo know only too well the significance of winning the Capital's bragging rights, the Gorgie chief stressed nothing that happens at Tynecastle will dent their friendship.
"We both know how much we want to win the match," said Jim.
"There will be views going back and forward as we are professionals but we'll share a beer or cup of tea afterwards and move on.
"From the first time we met the ground rules were laid down and he respected that.
"John played a big part in getting things right at Berwick and we built a side around him. He was a great leader and that's why we then took him to Falkirk.
"We often meet up at games and keep in touch. It's always been great fun. We're the best of friends and I'm sure win, lose or draw, that will still be the case on Saturday."
On Hearts.TV today, Jim's pre-match press conference IN FULL from Riccarton.
