Striker Gary Glen could have played his way into Jim Jefferies' starting line-up for the visit of Hibs after impressing in yesterday's friendly against Kilmarnock.

The front man featured for an hour against the Ayrshire outfit and capped a fine display with a superb match-winning strike.

Jim has been pleased with the improved attitude of the 19-year-old and he told Hearts.TV today: "I have said before it's all about rehabilitating his confidence but we have seen over the past few weeks in training, and especially yesterday when I thought he looked really sharp, that the movement, attitude and workrate was there like it was when he first got in the Hearts team.

"He scored a terrific goal yesterday and the keeper made a fantastic save from another effort from him."

Revealing the forward, who came off the bench against Motherwell at Fir Park last weekend, is firmly in his thoughts ahead of the sell-out Capital showdown, JJ added: "He was a kid who came on very young and looked a good prospect. He lost his way as a lot of youngsters do as sometimes their heads go down and they feel sorry for themselves and stop working as hard.

"I think if you asked Gary, he'd say he has been a little bit guilty of that on information I have picked up since coming in.

"But he impressed me yesterday and only played for the opening hour as we have still to make a decision on the team for Saturday."

On Hearts.TV today, JJ talks exclusively about facing good pal John Hughes in Saturday's Tynecastle clash.
