Hearts boss Jim Jefferies today revealed that Andrew Driver could be back in first-team action before the league splits next month.

The Englishman has struggled throughout the season with tendonitis in his knee, his last appearance in a stop-start campaign coming in the Co-operative Insurance Cup semi-final defeat from St Mirren at Fir Park.

However, he returned to full training today with Jim predicting the 22-year-old will be available for selection in the next few weeks.

"Andrew was training today but we can't consider him for at least a couple of weeks," JJ told Hearts News Today.

"We'll have to see how he goes as he has been out for some time but it's obviously a big plus that he is back in training after all his problems.

"With a bit of luck we might see him before the split, it all depends how he responds."

Further good news for manager came in the shape of Scott Robinson returning to training yesterday, the striker coming through the session without any problems following his knee injury.

Goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald, who injured his ankle in December, is also back in full training as the huge injury list at last begins to ease.

"We're getting a few of the guys back which is good," added Jim.

Meanwhile, Darren Murray's U19s take on Dundee United in a re-arranged league game at Riccarton today (kick-off 1pm).
