Gary Glen is set to increase Jim Jefferies' striking options for the trip to Aberdeen this weekend after recovering from the knock which kept him out of yesterday's victory over Hamilton in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.

The young front man was forced to sit out the 2-0 victory over the Accies after being hurt in training but JJ is confident of having available for the Pittodrie clash.

"Gary got hurt on Thursday and couldn't make the game against Hamilton yesterday," Jim told Hearts News Today.

"He should be okay for the game against Aberdeen, though, so there will be more competition for places which is good."

With Gary sidelined, Calum Elliot earned his first start of an injury-plagued season against Billy Reid's outfit.

The forward played for just over an hour and Jim said: "He wasn't too happy about coming off but we only intended to play him for an hour. He'll learn that's a good hour under his belt and he was okay in the dressing room afterwards.

"He knows it's all about winning and they are always happier when they have won."

With Jamie Mole fit again and captain Michael Stewart now free of suspension, the Hearts boss is anticipating having a stronger squad available for the trip north on Saturday.

"Michael's back and we have more players coming off the treatment table so that is encouraging as well."
