Hearts and Football Aid unite for charity
Football Aid were delighted to present a cheque to the Heart of Midlothian Education Trust, after supporters of the Scottish Premier League Club raised funds by playing in a Fans Vs Fans charity match at Tynecastle back in March 2009, before yesterday's game against Hamlton at Tynecastle.
Hearts winger, Andrew Driver was on hand to accept the cheque for £2,000 on behalf of Football Aid to the Heart of Midlothian Education and Community Trust.
Hearts community development manager Alan White, who organises the charity match at Tynecastle each year, said: "Football Aid are a valued partner of our community trust having provided funding towards various initiatives delivered by us in recent years.
"This funding will be used to purchase IT equipment that will allow young people, schools and groups the opportunity to make use of a recording facility in our recently developed music suite.
"On behalf of the Heart of Midlothian Education and Community Trust I would like to thank Football Aid for their continued interest and support."
The Heart of Midlothian Education and Community Trust was set up with the aim of utilising the "Power of Sport" to motivate, educate and inspire tens of thousands of children and adults within the local community, through a range of innovative and progressive programmes and events.
Football Aid allows fans to play for 90 minutes on the hallowed turf of the club they support, alongside former players and club legends. Not only do supporters "Live the Dream" but they also raise charitable funds which will then go on to support local, national and worldwide projects through the Field of Dreams multi-beneficiary scheme.
