Jim Jefferies tonight confirmed that Christian Nade was not included in today's team for the victory over Falkirk for football reasons - and that these were entirely justified after a good team performance.

Whilst confirming that the French forward is subject to disciplinary proceedings following a midweek incident at Celtic Park, Jim would not go into any further detail.

The Tynecastle manager explained that Christian was not included because of recent performances, wanting to distinguish between the two issues.

"I left him out because I don't think he's been doing particularly well," Jim said after the 3-2 win.

"He's been part of a team not scoring goals. Today you had young Gary Glen who is on a rehab course for confidence and we scored three goals. It was a justified decision.

"I left him out not for discipline reasons but because I was not going to play him anyway."

Asked to comment on whether Christian will play for Hearts again, the manager refused to comment, and insisted again that players will only play if their performances merit it.

"We will wait and see what the outcome of the discipline is. It's too early to make any decisions on anyone," Jim continued.

"The club have made a statement that we will deal with that internally and I can't tell you what it will be."

He did warn, though: "In general, if they don't perform and play then that can apply to someone else that might not play for Hearts again because they are not doing well enough.

"They have all got a chance - everyone knows I'm hard but fair."
