Ahead of Jim Jefferies' return to Tynecastle tomorrow after an absence of over nine years, Heart of Midlothian director Sergejus Fedotovas today reinforced the club's decision to bring him back.

Sergejus offered a glowing endorsement of the former Hearts captain and manager's views on the future direction of the club.

And he proclaimed Jim's 'vision' and 'understanding' as the standout factors in an appointment that has been welcomed by the Tynecastle faithful.

"Jim is a true Hearts man and the club is an important part of his life, not a stepping stone as some previous managers have seen it before," he said.

"Mr Romanov sees this and he believes it can work both ways. He is professional in every way and experienced, having good connections in the local game and an understanding of good man management.

"I am proud to work with such a person and feel his superb attitude will be of benefit to the club."

One area Sergejus is delighted to have agreed with JJ is a focus on developing players through the club's much-coveted academy and, when signing playersm, ensuring they are of an age to grow with the club.

"Jim understands Mr Romanov's vision for the future of the club," Sergejus said.

"The owner is keen to see the best young players develop as part of a successful strategy that provides long-term benefits for the players and the club.

"Hearts is in a tremendous position to attract the top young players in the country.

"We now believe that we have a manager that is capable of steering them on a pathway to the first team and, in turn, develop them as part of a winning team which will present them with opportunities to achieve great things in the football world."
