Jim waiting for answer
Jose Goncalves could make his mind up about his new contract offer within the next 24 hours, according to Hearts boss Jim Jefferies today.
The defender has been offered a new and improved deal to remain at Tynecastle but has thus far refused to put pen to paper.
Jim has told the former Portugal U21 international he won't be considered for first-team action until he agrees the contract and said today: "He's the one that is making it more difficult but he has his reasons.
"I was here working at it until 9pm on Tuesday night and I felt 75 per cent sure we were about there. He wants until Friday to think about it rather than be pressurised into signing something.
"We have made progress so it's just about him showing the commitment to do it. He's been made a great offer and that's the bit I find frustrating. If he wants to be here then he has all the opportunity to do so. It can't be about the money so it must be about something else I have no idea about. But I am trying to sort it out as quickly as possible and as soon as it's resolved he will be available."
On Hearts.TV today - Jim meets the media at Riccarton, plus Marian Kello on his inspired display against Celtic.
