Zal's attitude spot-on
Jim Jefferies today highlighted the attitude shown by Marius Zaliukas as a prime example of what he is expecting from his Hearts players.
The centre-half was his side's best performer in last night's Co-operative Insurance Cup semi-final clash with St Mirren.
Despite his outstanding display at the heart of the Jambos rearguard, the Lithuanian international took little pleasure in playing so well in a disappointing defeat to Gus McPherson's side.
The vice-captain's contribution was all the more impressive given the fact he had been struggling with a hamstring strain in the build-up to the semi-final shoot-out.
"I thought Marius played well," added Jim. "When we were pushing forward for an equaliser, he held firm at the back.
"He did very well, especially considering he was struggling after the St Johnstone match with a hamstring problem.
"He put in a good performance but it wasn't enough to win.
"He said it himself afterwards that, despite the way he played, he wasn't happy because of the result and that is the attitude we want here."
