Scott Robinson last night admitted he's never even been to Ibrox, let alone contemplated the thought of starting against the champions on Saturday, whilst Gordon Smith is taking all the post-Hibs goalscoring attention in his stride.

The talented academy starlets have impressed many with some superb performances since earning their opportunity over the Christmas period.

And now 17-year-old Scott hopes he can get his big chance against Rangers this weekend.

"I am looking forward to Saturday if I'm involved," he said. "It will be a big occasion. I've never played in front of such a big crowd so it will be brilliant.

"I've never even been to Ibrox - just seen it on the telly! I just have to take it as it comes and hopefully put in a good performance."

Scott has been joined in the Hearts line-up by Gordon Smith in recent weeks, the 18-year-old scoring on his debut against Hibs at Easter Road.

That was a life changing moment for the Edinburgh-born lad, but he's determined to take his chance, and with it everything in his stride.

"Obviously it has changed because I've scored for my boyhood club," he smiled, alongside Scott at an event to launch APS' sponsorship of the Colinton Primary School AEGON Breakfast Club.

"It was a great achievement for me especially on my debut but nothing has changed that much.

"In the first couple of days I had a few newspapers at my door and I was in the papers but apart from that it's been fine.

"When I got in the changing room I had 40 texts from mates, loads on my Facebook page too saying they were delighted for me to score, especially against Hibs when you're playing for Hearts. I couldn't have asked for any more.

"I just need to thank the manager for giving me the opportunity to do it. I'm just happy being in amongst the first team as I'm still only 18."

For Scott he believes Hearts can go to Ibrox in confident mood. "We're going there with no fear," he stressed.

"There is great confidence in the dressing room just now that we can go and get at least a draw but we'll be going for a win."

The last word goes to Gordon Smith, who like his wee striking buddy is thrilled to see Clydesdale Bank Premier League clubs involve so many young players these days.

"There has been a lot of youngsters coming through and there are good players," he said. "We will develop better if we're in the first team."

Amen to that!
