Striker Christian Nade today insisted he wants to leave Hearts on a high.

The front man is out of contract in the summer and although tentative discussions have taken place regarding extending his stay at Tynecastle, he's unsure what the future holds.

With the Gorgie star revealing a number of clubs have been expressing an interest in his services, he knows this could be his last season in maroon. And if that proves to be the case, he's determined to ensure it's a successful farewell.

"To be honest I want to stay until the end of the season when my current contract is up," he said.

"We have had little discussions about staying but if I leave this club in the summer, I would like to do my best to help win a cup or bring them into Europe again like last season.

"I don't want to be someone who just takes his money and goes away."

In recent matches, the 25-year-old has been enjoying some of his best form since joining Hearts from Sheffield United.

He admitted it hasn't been easy adapting to the tactics favoured by his manager but the powerhouse forward will do whatever he can to help the team.

"The fact we are scoring is giving us more confidence and defensively we are very strong," he said at today's Press conference at Riccarton ahead of Saturday's Active Nation Scottish Cup fourth-round clash with Aberdeen.

"I want to stay in the team and try to give my best when I'm out on the pitch. The tactic we play is not the kind I like as I find it hard. It is not the kind of football I used to play so when I get the ball I'm normally in the middle of the park and when I turn I have to beat four or five defenders.

"It is difficult but I have to play for the team. Scott Robinson is the kind of partner I like as he likes to run a lot and I can save my energy for attacking with the ball."

On Hearts.TV today, Christian and Csaba Laszlo meet the media at Riccarton.
