Teenage striker Scott Robinson was today backed to be a big success with Hearts - if he continues this season's good work.

The forward, who became the youngest player in the club's illustrious history when he came off the bench against Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Tynecastle in April last year, made his first start for the Edinburgh side in Saturday's clash with Dundee United.

The 17-year-old partnered Jamie Mole in attack in a new-look frontline and handled the big occasion well.

Scott is still eligible for the U19s, and coach Darren Murray told Hearts News Today that he's looking for the youngster to now build on this experience.

"It was great to see Scott get his chance at the weekend," said Darren.

"I have no doubt he has a future at first team level if keeps doing what he's been doing - keeping his head and working hard.

"Hopefully this is just the start for Scott but it's up to him now to keep applying himself and make the most of any opportunities which may come his way.

"With Craig Thomson having broken into the first team this season and become a regular, and Scott having been given his chance, it's shows we must doing something right at youth level.

"Both of them can still play in the U19s so credit to them for the progress they have been making."
