Not even said hello yet - McGowan
Ayr loan-star Ryan McGowan today revealed he's not even had a chance to say hello to his new Somerset Park team-mates since joining the First Division side.
That's despite the Australian U20 international netting on his debut in an impressive 2-2 draw against Dundee.
Ryan's intervention put Ayr on the route to securing a share of the spoils from two goals down.
"I was surprised to start the game as I had only signed that afternoon and did not leave Edinburgh until about 3 'o' clock," he told Hearts News.
"I did not meet my new team-mates until about half past six, an hour and a quarter before the game and barely time to say hello!"
And the irony is that Ryan's still not met his new colleagues. "Tomorrow we play Partick Thistle at Firhill and it is quite funny that if I am involved I'll have played twice for Ayr without having even trained with them," he grinned.
"It was a good feeling scoring but I did not really have time to celebrate it that much as we were 2-0 down and I was more concerned about getting back to kick off the game again.
"We eventually managed to get the equaliser and I thought we played quite well."
Ryan will continue to train with Hearts in between sessions at Ayr, with the ultimate aim of getting back into Csaba Laszlo's thoughts upon his return to Riccarton in January.
"They are a part-time team and train twice a week," he said. "I will be training at Hearts out-with those times and as a result have not had chance to be with the guys yet.
"My intention is to use this experience to help me improve and come back to Hearts in January and try to get back into the first team squad.
"I am contracted to Hearts for the next three years and if it takes going to somewhere like Ayr to get my into the Hearts team then I am happy to do it."
