Hearts today began the search for a team of Erskine Volunteers to assist in various activities throughout the season as part of a newly formed Hearts Erskine Volunteer Group.

The club is searching for supporters to join a small database who could support events on Matchday and occasionally non-Matchday as and when required during the season.

Supporters won't be asked to assist on every occasion, more likely forming a group of fans who Erskine can call upon from time to time.

A club spokesperson said, "Erskine make great use of serving personnel, but there are times when this is not practical or possible because of operational constraints.

"As a club we've offered Erskine many opportunities to raise funds and awareness of the fantastic work they do, but to be able to make the most of this they require some help from our supporters.

"The idea of the Erskine Hearts Volunteer Group would be for supporters to register with the club and in doing so allow us to pass on their details to Erskine who will only make contact if they are looking for help with a particular event.

"We are aware that some supporters have said it is very difficult to make a financial commitment with Erskine, something we fully appreciate, and in response to this felt this was an excellent opportunity for supporters to offer a different kind of help, but one which is equally vital.

"It maybe that each supporter to register is only required once in the end, but that help could be critical as to whether Erskine can take up one of the opportunities they get via our unique partnership."

Supporters who wish to register for the Hearts Erskine Volunteer Group should simply email their name, address and a daytime contact telephone number to lawrence@homplc.co.uk with the subject line Hearts Erskine Volunteer Group.
