Csaba Laszlo was delighted with the work-out Bolton afforded his team at Tynecastle last night.

The Barclays Premier League outfit provided stern opposition as the Gorgie boss prepares Hearts for a return to Europe in less than three weeks.

Christian Nade's overall performance - not least his goal - also earned praise from Csaba, whilst he endorsed the credentials of several of his players including Suso Santana and Laryea Kingston.

"We must think about the Europa League and for this I chose to play a special opponents in Bolton and Sunderland - very strong opponents," the manager said after the 1-1 draw.

"I think - especially if you look at the second half - I was happy.

"I tell you why: from the physical and mental perspective we grew over a Premier League team. I saw my technical staff had done a good job.

"We are not finished the preparation and the players are not so fresh, but the answer for the goal was immediately there.

"There are different types of players and we are forced to play different tactics. We played two different tactical shapes in the game and slowly this worked."

And while Csaba was happy to see his team hit back so strongly after going a goal down, the boss was not pleased with the defending that led to Gary Megson's side's opener.

"I said in the dressing room before: at this level one moment of tactical indiscipline can kill you, and Bolton did this for the first goal," he noted.

Csaba also confirmed that the search for possible attacking talent to augment the Hearts squad will continue in the days ahead with the technical staff and board working together on options.

Meanwhile, Ruben Palazuelos will return to training after an ankle injury today, and could be involved against Sunderland on Saturday.
