Teenage sensation Arvydas Novikovas hopes to get more opportunities this season, after impressing many with a string of fine performances in midfielder during pre-season.

The Lithuanian wonder-kid has featured regularly, coming on to place on the right and left-side of midfield.

Arvydas' strong and skilful style delighted many in Germany and England, and now he hopes to get more opportunities in the months ahead, having made his debut against Celtic on the final match of last season.

"I think that it was really good for me and it was good experience for me," he told Hearts.TV. "I think that Germany and England were good camps for me.

"I was surprised to be involved in the last game because it was important for us as we must win - the manager wanted us to win but he gave me a chance.

"Everybody was happier and the manager was happier and it was a good game for us. We had a couple of chances to score, but I think it was a good game."
