From Hearts News in Barsinhausen, Germany

Hearts finally arrived at their Baringhausen base tonight, shortly after midnight local time after a significant delay.

The Tynecastle side's flight was delayed by about two and a half hours after a security alert shut-down Edinburgh Airport - as documented on the Hearts Twitter feed this afternoon.

Landing in Dusseldorf shortly after 8pm local time, the team's journey east was further hampered by dreadful rain and lightening which caused flash flooding on the German motorway network.

After arriving at the team's base, which includes training facilities outside the hotel, players and staff took a late snack dinner.

The players then retired to bed with a 10.30am start for training tomorrow morning, whilst staff prepared kit (and media equipment) for the week ahead!

Hearts Media will have the best coverage from here in the Hannover region throughout the week.
