Suso Santana today declared himself ready to entertain Hearts supporters after the Spaniard put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Tynecastle.

Having spent last season on loan with Second Division CD Fuerteventura, the 24-year-old is determined to impress the Edinburgh club's supporters.

Speaking exclusively to Hearts News the new man said, "I am very happy to be here.

"I like to take players on one v one and provide the final pass into the box. I am a quick player, and an aggressive player.

"Everybody likes to score goals and I am like everyone. I scored nine goals last season at Fuerteventura.

"In the Spanish Second Division B there is a similarity with the physicality and I will have to get used to that straight away in Scotland."

Suso is also excited about the opportunity to make his mark in Europe for the first time in his career with Hearts' UEFA Europa League campaign but two months away.

"It is very exciting to be involved in this sort of competition," he said.

"I want to work hard and try and put my grain of sand in the club and help the club do as well as possible."

And with four games taking place in Germany next week, Suso - as he is likely to be named on his shirt - is eager to get involved in the match action.

"I am in good shape at the moment," he said when asked about his readiness for the challenges that lie ahead.

"That is what pre-season is for, to train, play games and prepare well for the season ahead!"
