Csaba Laszlo today spoke of his pleasure at seeing Andrew Driver make his England U21 debut this week and predicted even better things lie ahead for the flying winger - provided he continues his footballing education at Tynecastle.

The 21-year-old was handed his first cap by Stuart Pearce in Tuesday's European Championship clash with Germany and impressed on the right flank as the English secured their semi-final showdown against Sweden tomorrow night.

His excellent form in maroon last season sparked speculation over his Hearts future, with a host of clubs being credited with an interest in prising him away from Gorgie. Having performed so well on his first appearance for his country at that level, further speculation over big-money moves could well follow him around.

However, Csaba is convinced that the best policy for Andrew at the moment is to remain focused on his Tynecastle career.

"I was pleased for Andrew - and for us. It was a very high moment in his life to play for England U21 and we all must be happy about everything that has happened at the club in the last year," he said.

"For him to play in the European Championships is very special and something you don't always get to do.

"There was the talk of him having the chance to play for Scotland and now he has played for England U21s in a big tournament and this is a very nice thing for him, definitely.

"The national team and Hearts is different. He will get the confidence here and I think it is important for Andrew Driver to stay one or two years more here at Tynecastle to learn the football and stabilise his performance not only on the field but outside the field as well.

"He can then go to the next level if he gets the possibility."

On Hearts.TV today, Jamie Mole reveals his determination to reclaim his starting place after returning from loan spell at Dunfermline.
