The closed season might be a time for players to rest, but there's no such luck for the staff at Tynecastle who are busily working towards next season - as our exclusive pictures show today!

By the time the Hearts players run out of the tunnel on Tuesday 4th August against Barclays Premier League side Bolton Wanders Tynecastle will have been freshened up in preparation for the new campaign, not least the club's return to Europe.

Work is currently being undertaken to replace all seats in the lower section of the Main Stand with new seats with "back". Additionally work will be undertaken to install new technical areas with seating in the stand for coaching staff to enjoy a better view of the pitch.

The Gorgie Stand will once more host Hearts Hospitality seating for next season in Section X (upper) and first changes are now taking place there to install padded seats.

Of course all importance summer pitch maintenance is ongoing under the guidance of Colin Davey who has produced a wonderful surface over the last few years, not least last season.
