U19s lose five-goal thriller
Clydesdale Bank U19 League: Aberdeen 3-2 Hearts
From Hearts News at Balgownie Playing Fields
Hearts went down 3-2 to Aberdeen in the Clydesdale Bank U19 League today, the Dons scoring in the last minute to snatch victory.
The Jambos had gone in at half-time 2-1 ahead thanks to goals from Ryan Wallace and Arvydas Novikovas but despite playing the better football, the visitors were pegged back against the wind after the break and eventually succumbed to a sucker punch in the dying moments.
"I thought we played the better football, by far," said coach Darren Murray after the game at Balgownie Playing Fields.
"We had lots of chances to win the game but unfortunately we were caught by a counter attack right at the end and that was very disappointing.
"The goals we lost weren't great but after dominating the first half we should have gone on to win the match."
Hearts: Ridgers, C. Thomson, Brown (Deland, 30), McGowan, Balatoni, J. Stewart, Novikovas, Cowan, Robinson, R. Wallace (McKenzie, 72), Mulrooney (Visconte, 72).
On Hearts.TV today, Jason Thomson gives exclusive reaction after signing his new contract, plus Csaba's pre-match Press conference from Riccarton.
