Fighting talk
Hearts winger Deividas Cesnauskis today insisted he's determined to fight for his place as the season enters its crucial final phase.
The Lithuanian international has struggled to make an impression under Csaba Laszlo but remains confident in his own ability and is eager to prove his worth to the manager.
The 27-year-old, a member of the Scottish Cup-winning team in 2006, has been used predominantly as a substitute during the current campaign but has vowed to do all he can to reclaim his jersey.
"I will keep working hard in training and who knows maybe something will change," he told the media at today's Press conference ahead of the trip to Dundee United on Saturday.
"At the moment I am not playing enough but I am fit and need games."
Cesny is hoping to be involved at Tannadice this weekend as Craig Levein's side host the Jambos in a match which could have a significant bearing on who finishes third in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.
With Hearts currently boasting a two-point lead over fourth-placed United, victory would take the Gorgie outfit within touching distance of a top six spot and keep the Edinburgh side in pole position for European qualification.
"Saturday is a big game for us," said Deividas, whose current loan agreement with Kaunas expires at the end of the season.
"Three teams are going for third place and it's important for us to stay there. I think we have enough points to keep us in the top six at the moment but there is a big fight on now for the third place."
While determined to play a more significant role in the team between now and the end of the season, Deividas has admitted he may have to review his options come the summer to benefit his career.
He said: "My Hearts deal is up at the end of the season but we will see what happens. Maybe in the summer I'll need to leave Hearts as it's maybe time to try something different but I don't want to go back to Lithuania.
"I am not playing enough but I have spoken to the boss and he has told me my performance is not good enough.
"I want to stay here but if nothing changes then I'll want to leave."
On Hearts.TV today, Csaba Laszlo and Deividas talk to the media at this morning's pre-match Press conference at Riccarton.
