Now after starting two reserve matches - and netting two sublime goals - the 27-year-old is champing at the bit to be let loose at Easter Road ten days from now.

Speaking at yesterday's official Citroen launch at Riccarton the former Benfica man said, "I have played two games for the reserves and I played very good.

"My fitness is 99% so this is good. I scored two goals which is also important for my confidence and I am ready to start.

"It is good when the coach says something good about me, but now I must try and help the team and play good football for the coach.

"I am ready for the game and if the coach wants me to play I am ready and show I am a good player. I have confidence in my quality. I need to work like I worked before. If that happens then I am sure good things will happen for me."

Bruno admitted that there have been some very dark times in his life since last featuring for Hearts in April 2007 - but having produced some good form in the last few weeks he's excited about getting back into the first team.

"When I was injured sometimes I thought I was not sure if I would play like before but after these two games and scoring I am very confident," he said.

"I did not worry because in the training I see I have quality. I am not arrogant but I can play.

"My wife was with me all the time during my injuries. She gave me fantastic support so in this time I want to play for her."

And Bruno because the latest player to reveal how much he is enjoying working under manager Csaba Laszlo.

"He is a good coach and he has started very good," he said. "The team started good and played some good football.

"Now we have two bad results but in football sometimes this is normal. Now we must work very hard with quality and I think the results will be coming - I am 100% sure."
