HNT: Werner wants success
New Hearts assistant manager Werner Burger today outlined his desire to help Csaba Laszlo bring success to Tynecastle.
As revealed exclusively last night by Hearts News, the German has been appointed as Csaba's No. 2.
The pair will team up for the first time when the Jambos kick off the new Clydesdale Bank Premier League season on Saturday against Motherwell and Werner can't wait for the action to begin.
Speaking exclusively to Hearts News, Werner said: "I am delighted to be here and am looking forward to the first match this weekend against Motherwell.
"I think it will be a very emotional moment for me."
Werner, 50, has extensive experience of coaching in Switzerland, his former clubs including Schaffhausen, Red Star Zurich and Kreuzlingen.
Csaba and his new assistant forged their friendship while studying for their UEFA Pro-Licence in Cologne six years ago and the new man believes he will be an ideal foil for the Hearts boss.
"A long time ago Csaba and I decided to work together and now we have the chance. We will be trying our best for the team and the staff.
"I saw the squad training in Germany and spoke to a few people about the club and got their thoughts and this is a very exciting time for everyone.
"Csaba is very close to the team. I will be more in the background and I am sure we will work well together and I hope we can be a successful team together."
