Hearts sport director Anatoly Korobochka today assured Hearts fans that the club would do everything in its power to retain the services of top scorer Andrius Velicka.
The 28-year-old front man attracted interest from two Russian and one English Championship club in the summer transfer window and Hearts expect renewed interest for the former Lithuanian Player of the Year.
Velicka has once again risen to the top of Hearts' scoring charts with seven goals for the season so far - a scoring ratio of just over a goal per game. His success is all the more commendable given that he started seven of his 13 appearances from the bench.

Anatoly said today: "Andrius has an ability to score goals from all areas in and around the box. He has adapted well to the physical style of football in Scotland and he clearly relishes the opportunity to play for Hearts - you can see that every time he scores.
"We do expect interest in Andrius in the transfer window as he is an excellent player but he is very focused and dedicated to helping Hearts win silverware.
"While his scoring ratio is excellent, he is gaining a reputation as a player who scores in the big games but we know he is also capable of scoring against any team in the league or cup."

Velicka has scored five Clydesdale Bank Premier League goals, the most recent being his third for the season against Celtic when he netted a last-minute penalty at Tynecastle on Saturday.
His two goals against the Glasgow team in the CIS Cup also helped Hearts reach the semi-finals of this year's competition.
