Tynecastle: view to the North East

  • To develop an international standard football stadium that can compete with the stadiums found in Europe's capital cities and reflects the status of Edinburgh as one of the top cities in the world for sporting and cultural events. In order to meet this aspiration Hearts requires to develop a new main stand, mixed use building and basement car park.

  • To provide economic benefits for the City of Edinburgh and especially the immediate localities around the stadium including Gorgie, Dalry, Merchiston, Shandon, Chesser, Moat, Hutchison and Stenhouse.

  • To create an improved social environment with better use of space and a wider choice of amenities. A well structured urban plan will also allow movement of people and vehicles in a safe manner.

  • To play an integral part in the overall development of the Gorgie / Dalry area ensuring that Hearts continues to play an important part in investing in its community - a role the club has fulfilled for over 120 years at Tynecastle

  • To provide Hearts supporters and visitors to Tynecastle Stadium with excellent facilities in order to deliver a welcoming and rewarding spectator experience on a matchday.

  • To encourage the people of Edinburgh and indeed visitors to the city to view Gorgie and Dalry as a real attraction for living, eating out, socialising, entertaining and watching first class events.
