Heart of Midlothian Football Club today announces that Valdas Ivanauskas has left his position as head coach by mutual agreement.
Chairman Roman Romanov and the club management wish to thank him for his service with the club both as assistant coach and later head coach.
"During his period in charge of the team, Hearts won the Scottish Cup and finished second in the SPL," said Mr Romanov. "He has played a key role in the development of the team at a crucial time. Valdas made the request to leave his role as head coach."
"I am very proud to have been Hearts' coach," said Valdas. "In my career as a young coach, it has been my best and most interesting experience.
"I want to say how proud I am of the team. The team is currently in the process of forming itself and I can see it will have a great future.
"I would like to thank the staff at the club who have supported me during my time in Edinburgh. Above all I would like to express my gratitude to the best fans in Scotland, especially those who have given their support when times were tough.
"I have made many good friends at Hearts and will never forget you. I want to take this opportunity to wish the players and the fans all the best for the future."
